Samakal (Bengali: সমকাল samakal, "current
time, contemporary") is a Bengali language daily newspaper published in
Dhaka, Bangladesh. Samakal started publishing in 31 May, 2005. As of 2007, the
circulation of Samakal is around 200,000.
Golam Sarwar, a famous journalist serves
here as Editor. Maj. Gen. (Retd.) S.M. Shahab Udding serves here as Executive
Director, Abu Sayeed Khan serves as Managing Editor of the newsdaily. Abed Khan
was also here as editor.
